We are living in a world where electrical goods and items have become an integral part of our living and lifestyle. We can’t do without TV, Fridge, Washing Machines, Home Theater, PCs, Laptops and several other types of electrical goods and appliances. Obviously, when you decide to shift your home, you get concerned about packing and relocation of these goods in safe and sound condition, especially when you plan to move of your own.

Packing is one of the most important aspects of overall shifting and you can’t get it right unless you have a solid plan in place. This post is to help you understand it all and teach you about how to get it right. Here’s how to Pack Electronics for moving it safely during home shifting in India.

Preparing Your Electronics Appliances for Packing and Moving

As I said, you should have a proper plan in place before you start packing your appliances. Here are some basic practices that can help you prevent any hassle in packing and moving your electronic goods and items.

To begin with, let’s prepare a list of all electronics goods and appliances and its components e.g. power cords, remote controls, cables, and other accessories. This list should help us create a packing plan and also give you fair idea of how much packing materials will be required and prepare a packing schedule.

Another important thing is to carefully remove battery from the devices that you want to pack and move. If there are batteries, remove it.

You may also like to remove CDs and DVDs from your music player, but keeping it inside is also not a bad idea, so it’s up to you.

If you have any gadget that has any data then you should also take backup to ensure you don’t lose data in case of any mishap.

Packing Your Electronics for Moving

Electronic items are mostly fragile in nature and even a little bit of mishandling could cost you badly. But if you pack your electrical goods properly using good quality packing materials, it simply increase safety and can be moved quite safely.

In order to pack your appliances, you require packing boxes of suitable size. You may have kept original box and you may not have that. If you have original boxes and other packing materials, then you can simply start packing.

But if you don’t have original packing boxes, then you have to procure some packing box depending on your need.

Along with packing boxes, you need bubble wraps and thermo coal for wrapping. The idea is to to good quality wrapping and cushioning to avoid collision and scratches mainly.

If you are using new boxes, then you got to fill empty space with crumbled paper or thermo coals after wrapping and placing you electronic items inside the box.

While packing, you should label cords and cables properly so that you know which wire belong to which device and how to re-connect them after reaching to your new home.  If you have extra space, you may like to put components of any appliances in same box as well. Just remember to wrap all fragile items like monitor, TV etc very nicely.

Once your electronics are inside the box, you should seal the box with good quality packing tapes so that it pack as well as support the box.

Label each of the box and mark if any specific box is to be placed in any specific order and if it’s fragile. Labeling like this will be very useful at the time of loading and unloading.

Packing Done, it’s Time to get your Appliances Moved

Once you have finished packing it all, you can move it all of your own or you can compare and hire Packers and Movers Service Providers who usually send their tucks to different cities all the time. If you have part load, that is if you don’t want to hire a full truck then approaching a mover is better. Movers and packers companies are seasoned professionals and they can take care of transportation part quite safely for you and save all your hassles.

If you decide to do it yourself without hiring a mover, then be careful while loading your appliances in the truck. Lift it carefully and put it in the truck in such a way that no heavy weight boxes are stacked one over the other. If you have to stack these boxes in the truck, then make sure that boxes of electronics are always on top and that it’s placed in right order.
