I am going to share a few tips and advise to help you save some money as well as get your household goods packed and moved to a new city quite smoothly.

Schedule and Checklist

Create a schedule for entire packing and moving. For example fix a date by when you must have a moving company hired. Date when you want your goods to be packed, date of moving and so on
First thing that is to be done is to make a checklist of goods that is to be packed and moved.
Create a list of goods that is to be left. You may like to donate these items or sell it. Selling these unused items may give you money that you need for moving.

Approach Moving Companies

Once you know what are the goods to be moved and by when you want it to be moved, you are ready to request Quotes and Estimates for packing and moving.
Contact at least three packers and movers service Providers Company and request for quotations.
Since you already have the list of goods, you can share it with them and ask for written quotations.
Call them to survey the goods and give final estimates. This also gives you a chance to meet them face-to-face and evaluate their profile and rates.
