When it comes to packing and relocation, packing of small household items becomes a tedious thing to do and it takes lots of effort. While proper packing for each of the materials to be moved is equally important, packing of your lovely glassware need extra attention and care. Glassware could get damaged quite easily and thus proper packing of glassware is very important. Let me share a few tips to help you pack your glassware for moving it safely without getting damaged.
Bubble Wrap
Get some bubble wrap to wrap your glassware. If you don’t have bubble wrapper, you may use old newspapers. If you are using newspapers, then make sure to wrap it in three four layers. You should wrap individual items in groups, like all bowl in one group, plates in a separate group and so on. Once each of your glassware items are wrapped properly, the next step is to put it all in boxes.
Packing your Glassware in Card Board Box
While packing these glass items, you will require some crumpled newspapers to fill all the gaps. Ideally you should use dish-packing boxes that have space created for every item, but if you don’t have dish-packing boxes, then you may use simple cardboard box too. Whatever box you are using, put some newspapers or thermocol at the bottom of the box to make it softer and place all your items properly into the box. Put or arrange items vertically never put them flat else it could get damaged. If you are doing it on multiple layers, then use some newspapers between each layer. Now fill the box with old crumpled newspapers after tearing it into small peaces. There should not be any gap and these papers should fill the gap to ensure no or minimum damage. Cover your items with more newspapers to create a soft edge and then its time to apply tape. Once you are done with putting all glass materials, fill in the entire gap and apply cello tapes to pack it finally.
Labeling
Cartoon must be labeled properly to ensure you can identify them while loading it on the moving truck. So label your box properly and flag it as Glassware and to be handled carefully.
